The Hours of Anne by Mike Broemmel chronicles the final day in the life of Anne Boleyn, the time leading up to her beheading in the Tower of London. The play sets the record straight on numerous factual inaccuracies about Henry VIII's second wife that have persisted for hundreds of years.
The Hours of Anne presents the bravery of Queen Anne as she awaited her beheading on the Tower Green. The play thoroughly takes on the vile misinformation campaign undertaken by Henry VIII and his minions, a web of lies created for the sole purpose of permitting England's maniacle King the ability to marry a mistress.
Time and again, audience members who have seen the production come away feeling as if they were present during the final 24 hours of Anne's life. They feel as if they had the opportunity to sit with the Queen in her cell as she ruminates about the triumphs and tragedies of her short life as well as the calmity she faces at the gallows.
The play premiered in different U.S. states in 2016 and currently is available for production by theatre companies and schools.
